Overview

Skipper’s Landing Restaurant, nestled along the tranquil shores of Wolcott, NY, offers a genuine seafood dining experience with a comforting local charm. This lakeside spot brings together fresh, thoughtfully prepared dishes and inviting views, making it a favored choice for both casual diners and seafood enthusiasts.

The menu showcases a rich variety of seafood staples and creative dishes, from the indulgent Bacon Wrapped Scallops to the rich and creamy Lobster Bisque, which multiple guests have praised for generous lobster chunks and perfect texture. The Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo holds its own as a hearty, flavorful entrée with generous portions, while the daily specials—like the pasta in vodka sauce topped with an assortment of fresh seafood—add an element of surprise and delight.

Beyond seafood, Skipper’s Landing also caters to a wider audience with robust burger offerings such as the Mushroom Swiss and the Cajun Burger, as well as sandwiches and wraps that blend comforting flavors with fresh ingredients. The side selections, featuring classics like onion rings and sweet potato fries alongside lighter steamed broccoli or pasta options, round out the menu thoughtfully.

The atmosphere strikes a balance between relaxed and vibrant. Customers consistently note the friendly and attentive service, with particular mention of staff members who elevate the dining experience by fitting in with guests’ moods and making personalized accommodations whenever possible. Whether seated indoors overlooking the water or enjoying the now seasonal outdoor deck when available, visitors appreciate the welcoming ambiance that feels like a local gathering spot.

Skipper's Landing is ideal for families, groups of friends, and anyone looking to unwind after an active day—say, hiking nearby Chimney Bluffs State Park or exploring Sodus Point. The location’s appeal is enhanced by its proximity to the water, which invites diners to take a peaceful stroll along the dock after their meal.

While some patrons have noted the intimate size of the restrooms and found pricing to lean toward the higher end, the quality of food, consistent customer service, and scenic locale make it a destination worth visiting. Reservations are recommended, especially for those wishing to enjoy the outdoor deck or busier weekend evenings.

In essence, Skipper’s Landing Restaurant offers more than just a meal; it provides a memorable lakeside dining experience rooted in fresh seafood and warm hospitality. It’s a thoughtful choice for those exploring this corner of New York who want to savor both the flavors and the view.

We are here after a day hike at Chimney Bluffs State Park. Nice view of the water! The back deck was closed for the season but inside view was still nice. Chicken French was delicious. Kids meals were a great size. Staff was nice and friendly. A great lunch spot even not in high season! Parking lot across the street.

We had a great time dining here! The menu offers a fantastic variety of meals—there’s truly something for everyone. Our waitress, Lane, was absolutely exceptional. She went above and beyond, snapping a group photo for us and fully embracing our group’s shenanigans with humor and patience. She fit right in and made the experience even more enjoyable. The bar items were on point—great selections and everything was made just right. A couple of things to note: the bathrooms are extremely tiny—so small that it could be very difficult or even impossible for larger guests or those with mobility needs to use them comfortably. Also, while the food and service were great, the prices felt a bit on the high side. Overall, though, a fun spot with excellent service and a well-rounded menu. Thanks again to Lane for making our night so memorable!

Found this restaurant while we visited Sodus Point and it was prefect timing since they were opening when we were about to head back to our cabin so we stopped in for dinner! We saw the perfect view they had for outside seating and requested if we could be seated outside. The waitress said they were closing the outside seating on that Wednesday but made an exception for us, which was so sweet! Our waitress was super sweet and very personable! We ordered a whole lot but didn’t wanna be rude taking photos of every appetizer/meal we got, so I was only able to capture my meal and my boyfriends. For appetizers, we got the Bacon Wrapped Scallops and the Fried Duck Wings - both were so delicious! Everyone got a Lobster Bisque even tho it was pretty warm out and was it worth it! Great portion of lobster chunks and very creamy compared to most restaurants! There was a whole variety of entrees but I got the Shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo - loved every bite, huge portions for me but totally worth the second meal! Boyfriend got the special which was pasta is vodka sauce topped with shrimp, scallops, and calamari - which was also amazing.. I was stealing his scallops haha! After dinner we walked down to the edge of the dock for the amazing view!

This restaurant is getting to be one of our favorite places to go for a great dinner and friendly atmosphere. This was our second visit in the past 2 months. Once again the Lobster Bisque soup was simply amazing as so was our waitress Kaitlyn. We had great customer service as she was very busy but made time to make sure we had everything we needed or if we needed anything. Great service will keep us coming back and is well appreciated and should be commended. Keep up the good work

What a great place on the water! We didn't even think of needing a reservation (silly!) but the hostess was happy to find us a seat on a busy Friday night. (I would definately suggest reserving a table, especially if you want to sit outside on the deck!) Anyway, we were seated within a few minutes, and saw our waitress shortly afterward. The menu had many great choices. I decided on Chicken Romero - which was a wonderful blend of flavors! My friend chose Chicken French, which looked as if it was cooked to perfection (she said so, too!) After dinner we went out and enjoyed the fresh air and walk near the water. Would like to go back and try something different and would reserve a seat outside by the bar. Looked and felt like it was a local meeting place, which is always nice to find when traveling.
